Goodness,
Hello wonderful people who actually follow me...
I have recently been quite busy, but with the viewing of the newest Marvel movie (Iron Man 3) I was greatly inspired to write some Pepperony fluffiness.
WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE. you have been warned.
All rights belong to Marvel and Taylor Swift. :)
This one is dedicated to my wonderful sister who enjoys fangirling with me.
She wasn't sure why, but when he walked into the living room the next morning she couldn't help but throw the pillow at him, "I almost died!" she screams at him as she continues throwing projectiles, "you and your stupid obsession nearly killed me!"
He ducks as he nearly misses getting hit in the head with a vase, "I said sorry."
She pauses, her phone raised above her head, ready to be thrown at the doomed target. She takes in his worn down appearance, how tired he looks, and it ALMOST makes her feel bad. Almost. Had one of his suits not almost killed her she would have been up in a second, hugging and comforting him; but someone had had the brilliant idea to connect himself to his suits. His idea had really backfired this time.
"Tony, this has to change. I can't live with the fact that I might be killed in my sleep, by my own boyfriend!"
"Peps, listen...it's not my fault..."
That was the last thing she heard him say before she threw her phone across the room in shear anger that he couldn't even own up for his own actions. She didn't think about his safety until there was an undeniable 'smack' as the phone actually collided with his head when he seemed to have forgotten to duck. She had planned it to hit the wall... She hadn't actually wanted to hit him...
"Oh my goodness, Tony!"
Back in the room, she sat on the bed as she waited for her boyfriend to come out of the bathroom. As soon as the phone had collided with his head he had tried to apologize again but ran to their room when danger had become too harsh. He never looked behind at her, and when he saw her following him, immediately shifted his path for the master bathroom. Where he had been hiding for the past hour, listening to Pepper rant about needing to not leave a fight un-resolved.
She rubbed a hand down her face, knowing it was hopeless to try and coax him out. But, to be honest, she really hadn't meant to ACTUALLY hit him with her phone. She thought he might have ducked...or was she just too scared from the night before?
She shook her head from the over-powering thoughts as the bathroom door slowly opened to reveal Stark decked out in one of his many suits. For a minute she thought it was the same one that had attacked her the previous night, but let out a breath she hadn't known she had been holding when she heard his familiar voice from within.
"Ok, Peps. Let's talk."
She stiff led a laugh as she made her way to him. Wrapping her hands around his neck she found the release trigger to the helmet and slowly removed it. Underneath was his wonderful face and shining eyes, accompanied by an unmistakable black left eye and slightly bleeding cheek.
No words came from her mouth as she traced his jaw-line before leaning against his chest, letting the slow hum to the arc reactor bring her peace that everything was fine in their little world.
He broke from the embrace first, giving her those pathetic puppy eyes that she had fallen for so easily, and gave her a kiss on her temple before hugging her again, whispering softly into her ear, "Stay, please, just stay. " A deep breath as he recollected himself, then, "Stay, I've been loving you for quite some time."
She couldn't help but notice how he put the last part into a Taylor Swift melody, and smiled.
Let me know what you think!
Peace and God bless,
Gwen
