I live.
I don't generally know what people blog about so I'm going to give it shot by starting with I'm starting a book. Well, like my second book. This one is kind of the first one I've stuck with past chapter 5. Let me tell you, my character is kicking my butt and winning.
As an author it seems to be crazy hard to keep a character from going in any direction that it stupidly chooses. I'm here to prevent that.
I'm ranting, I know.
If you really want to write a book, make a bloody outline. (not actually. If anything, the only exception is water damage from tears.) Yes, outline includes mapping out your characters. (which somehow is always the hardest part for me, even though it should be the most fun). It even includes what conflicts are in what chapter (there should be a conflict in at least every other chapter apparently).
So I decide, yea ok, I'll make an outline, simply because I read somewhere that apparently it is a good idea.
In a nut shell, I made it to paragraph three before I was like, "Ooooh, I am so ready to write this."
And now guess what? I'm stuck.
Yup, I bring to you the product of writer's block.
Enjoy this post my friends, and know, whenever you write, please make an outline for the entire book.
